Here are a few tips to help ensure your laptop stays connected to wifi:
- Check the distance between the laptop and router, or the wireless access point
if using a wifi network at work, school or public hot spots. - Move the laptop closer to the router.
- Check the settings on the laptop wireless adapter and router. Make sure the wireless is
enabled and the SSID (network name) is correct. - Run a ping command to see if the laptop can communicate with the router and other
devices on the network. - Restart the laptop and router. Turning off the laptop, router, and any other wireless devices,
waiting a minute and then turning them back on can sometimes resolve an issue. - Check that the wireless network is secure. If it is, make sure the laptop is set up correctly
to use the correct password to join.
