1. Check the power cord is securely plugged in the back of the printer and into the wall socket.
2. Look at the display of the printer for any error messages.
3. Check if the paper tray has plenty of paper.
4. Make sure the document is correctly placed.
5. Adjust the settings in the printer menu to configure the type of function (scanning or copying) you are trying to achieve.
6. Check Ink or toner is not empty and is working properly.
7. If the errors persists try to reset the printer.
8. Lastly, if resetting the printer still doesn't work, then consult a technical service personnel for further support.
