Why is my printer displaying an error code on the control panel?

  1. Check if the printer is powered on
    • Make sure the power cable is connected to the power source
    • Check the power switch to ensure it is in the ‘on’ position
  2. Clear any jammed papers or obstructions in the paper path
    • Check printer for any pieces of paper or obstruction in the paper path
    • Remove any pieces of paper found in all available access points
  3. Restart the printer
    • Turn the power switch off and wait a few seconds
    • Turn the power switch back on
  4. Check all wires for correct connection
    • Ensure the printer is connected to your computer
    • Check any type of connectivity such as USB and Ethernet cables for secure connections
  5. Check for any printer software updates
    • Go onto the printer’s manufacturer website to download any available updates
    • Run the update once downloaded and follow any onscreen instructions
