- Delete Old Messages & Apps
- Check the Cache
- Empty the Downloads Folder
- Back Up Your Files
Old text messages and unused apps can take up space in your storage. Try deleting any apps that you never use, and if you can, back up your text messages to the cloud or delete them from your device.
Often times, your device’s internal memory is accumulated with cache. To clean the cache, navigate to your device’s settings menu and delete app caches and wipe your browser cache memory.
The downloads folder on your phone can become overloaded with uncompressed images and video files that can fill up their memory. Consider compressing these files or moving them to the cloud or an external drive.
If you’d rather keep your files on your device because they contain sensitive data, try backing them up directly to the cloud or an external drive. This will leave more internal memory available for other tasks.
