Why is my Outlook not showing the correct location or time zone for my calendar appointments?

Here are some steps to troubleshoot your Outlook calendar appointments:

  1. Make sure the timezone is properly set in Outlook.
    a. Select the File tab in the Ribbon at the top of the Outlook window.
    b. Choose Options and select Calendar.
    c. Select the time zone you are in.
  2. If it is already set, make sure your computer’s date and time is correct.
    a. Go to Control Panel in the start menu.
    b. Click on Clock, Language, and Region, click Date and Time.
    c. Select the Date and Time tab, and click on Change date and time.
  3. Verify your desired time zone appears in the drop-down list.
    a. Go to Control Panel in the start menu.
    b. Click on Clock, Language, and Region, click Date and Time.
    c. Select the Additional Settings tab, and click on Time Zones.
    d. Make sure your desired time zone appears in the drop-down list.
  4. Make sure the appointment is associated with the correct time zone.
    a. In Outlook, click the calendar.
    b. Double-click the appointment.
    c. Check the time zone associated with the appointment.
  5. Check the computer for the latest Windows updates.
    a. Go to Control Panel in the start menu.
    b. Click System and Security, click Windows Update, and then select Check for Updates.
    c. If any updates are available, they will be displayed.
