Why is my microphone not working in a Teams meeting on my desktop?

1. Check the sound levels of your computer

  • Go to your computer settings and follow the sound control guide
  • Check that the volume is not muted and that the sound is up to the max level
2. Ensure that the device (microphone) you are using is compatible with your computer
  • Make sure that the plug is properly connected to the correct jack and is snugly fitted
  • If you’re using a Bluetooth device, check the Bluetooth connection
3. Check your browser settings and audio devices options
  • Allow microphone access in your browser
  • In your browser’s audio settings, make sure that the correct audio device is selected
4. Update your audio drivers
  • Check for any pending updates and install them.
