1. Check the position of your laptop in relation to your modem/router.
2. Close and open any software that's been running for too long.
3. Verify that your laptop is not too far from the router, to maximize signal strength.
4. Update the Wi-Fi driver on your laptop
5. Reset the router and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
6. Check and renew the IP address issued by the router to your laptop.
7. Detect and remove any viruses or malware from your laptop that could be using up the bandwidth.
8. Check if your router has Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities, and optimize your network accordingly.
