< 1 min read

Here are a few steps to troubleshoot your laptop’s overly sensitive touchpad:

  1. Check your touchpad settings:
    • Open your settings menu and locate the touchpad settings
    • Adjust the touchpad sensitivity settings, or the rate at which the cursor moves across the screen
    • Try and calibrate the touchpad and set the touchpad to the most appropriate sensitivity for your needs
  2. Clean your touchpad:
    • Use a cotton cloth to gently wipe the touchpad
    • Do not use any chemical solutions or sprays on your touchpad, as they may damage the surface
    • Dry the touchpad to ensure that the cleaning solution does not damage the surface
  3. Check for obstructions:
    • Look for any obstructions such as dirt or dust that may be blocking the touchpad
    • Inspect the bottom of the laptop for any debris that may be blocking the touchpad
    • Be sure to remove any debris and restart the laptop to test the touchpad
