Why is my laptop’s screen resolution stuck on the lowest setting?

Check settings in the Control Panel under Display and try adjusting the resolution.
Check the cable connections between the monitor and the laptop.
Check the display settings of the monitor to make sure it is set to the highest resolution.
Make sure your graphics card driver is up-to-date and that the latest Windows updates have been installed.
Reset the picture settings on the laptop to the Manufacturer’s default settings.
Reinstall the driver for the laptop’s graphics card.
