- Check the Touchpad Settings: Windows 10 and macOS both have touchpad settings that could be causing the lack of scroll. Check the mouse and touchpad settings in the Control Panel or System Preferences to make sure there isn’t a setting turned off or toggled that could be causing the issue.
- Restart the Computer: Restarting the computer is often the answer to many tech issues, and this one is no exception. After restarting the computer, check that the touchpad is still not scrolling.
- Uninstall and Reinstall Touchpad Drivers: Uninstalling and then reinstalling the touchpad drivers can be different for various systems. For Windows, visit the device manager and go to Mice and other pointing devices. Then right click on the touchpad and select Uninstall.
- Try Updating the BIOS: The BIOS can also be responsible for the lack of scroll. Try updating the BIOS, as long as you don’t feel unsafe doing so.
