Why is my laptop overheating when I use certain programs?

< 1 min read

  1. Assess the air flow of your laptop

  2. Check if the vents are blocked by any foreign objects and clear any blockages.

  3. Reduce the processor’s load

  4. Make sure the laptop isn’t running too many applications and limit the use of demanding programs.

  5. Replace thermal paste

  6. If the processor continues to overheat, replace the thermal paste to create better contact between the processor and heat sink.

  7. Clean the fan

  8. Make sure the fan is clean and free from dust and debris.
