- Check Device Manager: To make sure the newly connected keyboard is detected by the laptop, open Device Manager and check if the external keyboard is visible
- Device Troubleshooter: Run the Windows Device Troubleshooter and troubleshoot the device to identify any possible errors causing the issue
- Update Driver Software: If the newly connected keyboard was not detected, locate the manufacturer’s website and search for the latest driver updates, then open Device Manager and update the drivers
- Reset Keyboard Settings: Open the control panel and click on Ease of Access. Navigate to Make the Keyboard Easier to Use and reset the configured settings
