1. Check to make sure that the correct SSID is typed in correctly
2. Make sure to check if the Wi-Fi connection is turned on and reachable
3. Try restarting the modem and router
4. Check that the router is set to DHCP and not static IP
5. Make sure that the laptop is within the Wi-Fi range
6. Try disabling the firewall or antivirus on the laptop temporarily and see if the connection is established
7. Check for possible issues with ports that are blocked
