Why is my laptop not connecting to a specific Bluetooth audio device?

< 1 min read

  1. Check the device is within range: Bluetooth signals can be hampered by environmental factors e.g. distance, large metal objects, and thick walls. Move the device and laptop closer together to ensure they are within range.
  2. Check the battery levels: If either the device or laptop do not have sufficient charge, the connection won't be made.
  3. Check the Bluetooth driver is up to date: Old or out of date Bluetooth drivers can cause devices to not connect. Check for system updates and if necessary, re-install the Bluetooth driver.
  4. Restart your laptop and device: Refresh both the laptop and the Bluetooth device by restarting them to ensure they are properly connected.
  5. Make sure no other device is connected to the laptop: If other devices are connected to the laptop at the same time, this can affect the connection.
