Why is my internet not working in a specific location?

Below is a list of steps to troubleshoot this issue:

  1. Check to make sure that the internet is working in other locations.

  2. Check both the modem and router to ensure the power light is on and all cables are properly attached.

  3. Restart the modem and router.

  4. Following restarting the modem and router, perform a speedtest from a device connected to the network to ensure that the link speed meets the minimum for your service.

  5. Check to make sure the device is connected to the correct WiFi and that the password is correct (often found on the back of the modem / router).

  6. Check the device to ensure that it is not in Airplane mode.

  7. Verify that another device can (or cannot) connect when using the same modem and router.

  8. If another device cannot connect, reset / reconfigure the router and set an Administrator password, SSID, and encryption type.

  9. Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for support if the issue is still unresolved.
