- Check the connection cable is securely plugged in.
Verify that the cable is not bent or broken. Look for any visible signs of wear and tear, such as cuts and splits. Replace the cable if necessary.
- Run a network troubleshooter.
First, open the Control Panel and select
Troubleshoot
. When the Troubleshooter window appears, click on Network Adapter to run the diagnostic. - Check the Network Card.
Unplug the network cable from the computer and look for any visible damage on the ports where the cable is connected. If needed, contact technical support to get the network card replaced.
- Reset the Router.
Unplug the power cable from the router, wait for ten seconds, and plug the power cable back in. Wait for the router to reset itself to its factory state.
- Restart the Computer.
Press and hold the power button to shut down the computer. Wait for a few seconds, and press the power button to turn the computer back on.
