Why is my Internet connection limited or blocked?

If you experience a limited or blocked Internet connection, here are some steps you can take to help resolve the issue:


  1. Check that all cables are securely connected to the equipment and/or router.
  2. Reboot your router and/or modem and restart the computer.
  3. Run an internet speed test to determine your connection speed.
  4. Turn off any programs that could be using large amounts of bandwidth.
  5. Run the traceroute command to diagnose latency and hop test.
  6. Disable and then enable your network adapter and/or router.
  7. Contact your internet provider if the issue persists.
