< 1 min read

Firstly, check for the driver or software updates. Windows might not be able to recognize the CD until the driver or software that you are using is updated.
Secondly, check the CD and DVD discs to ensure that they are clean, scratch-free, and not smeared with labels or anything else.
Thirdly, ensure that the storage device is enabled in BIOS and set as master on the secondary IDE controller.
Lastly, inserd a Windows CD or DVD and boot from it to see if the computer can recognize it.

  1. Look for driver and software updates.
  2. Check the CD or DVD discs to make sure that they are clean and not damaged.
  3. Ensure the storage device is enabled and set as master on the secondary IDE drive.
  4. Insert a Windows CD or DVD and boot from it to see if the computer recognizes it.
