< 1 min read

Steps to diagnose the cause of not connecting to a specific wireless network:

  1. Verify that all cables for the network connection are plugged in securely and that the wireless router is powered on.
  2. Check to make sure that wireless is enabled on the computer.
  3. Confirm that the wireless network connection on the computer is set to connect to the correct wireless network.
  4. Restart the computer and the wireless router.
  5. Run the Windows Network and Internet Troubleshooter.
  6. Verify the service set identifier (SSID) and the settings of the wireless router. Check that the Channel and Mode settings match.
