The following are a list of things to check if your computer is not booting past the BIOS screen:
- Verify power connections are secure- Ensure that the power supply is securely connected to the wall outlet or surge protector and that the cord is securely inserted into the back of the computer.
- Verify RAM is properly seated- Make sure your RAM module(s) is securely seated in it’s slot in the motherboard.
- Check the display- Check if the display is properly connected (video card and monitor cables). If possible try a different monitor to ensure it’s not a display problem.
- Check all the cables- Ensure all the cables connected to the motherboard and peripherals are secure.
- Check your drives- Make sure the SATA or IDE cables are properly connected and securely fastened/locked.
- Try a different power supply- If you have a spare, try to replace the power supply and see if the problem is solved.
- Check for BIOS Updates- Outdated BIOS can cause compatibility issues. Make sure your BIOS is up-to-date.
