Why is my Active Directory user account not receiving group policy updates?

Understand the issue:

  1. Verify that the user is a member of the domain
  2. Verify that the user can be activelly authenticated by Active Directory
  3. Verify that the firewall is properly configured and the user has access to the appropriate domain controller
  4. Verify that the user is assigned to the appropriate group policy
  5. Verify that the appropriate group policy is configured in the active directory
  6. Verify that the user is assigned to the appropriate folder redirection policy
  7. Verify that the appropriate folder redirection policy is configured in the active directory
Check Permissions:
  1. Check the user account permission for the domain
  2. Check the group policy for the domain
  3. Check the folder redirection policy for the domain
Update Group Policy:
  1. Update the user account and group policy manually
  2. Run the gpupdate /force command in an elevated command prompt
  3. Run the gpupdate /sync command in an elevated command prompt
  4. Verify that the group policy update was successful
