Why does my Smart TV have a distorted or pixelated picture?

< 1 min read

  1. Check the cables:
Ensure the HDMI cables used to connect the televisions and source devices are snugly inserted and that power cables are secure.
  2. Inspect the ports:
It is also possible that a broken or bent pin in the port is causing the picture to distort. Visually inspect the ports for signs of damage.
  3. Test alternate sources:
Verify if the same issue occurs by using a different input device, such as a DVD or BlueRay player.
  4. Adjust the display settings:
Depending on the model, users can access picture settings through the remote, on-screen menu, or by pressing the Menu button directly on the TV.
  5. Power cycle:
Unplug all devices from the wall and then disconnect them from the TV. Wait 30 seconds before plugging them back in, then power on the TV.
  6. Replace hardware:
If proper trouble-shooting does not resolve the issue, replacing the cable or a damaged port on either the TV or the device may be necessary.
