Why are my inserted Excel spreadsheets not updating in OneNote on a Mac?

A few troubleshooting steps to help with your OneNote spreadsheets:


  1. Check your format settings for Excel in OneNote:
    Go to the File menu and select Options. Check the settings for Excel options to confirm compatibility.
  2. Check Mac Excel:
    Make sure that you are using the latest version of Excel on Mac for best performance.
  3. Check source file:
    Make sure that your Excel source file has not been changed from the initial one.
  4. Reinsert/Update file:
    Reinsert the file or copy and paste to see if it updates properly.
  5. Check Sync:
