1. Check permissions to make sure that you have sufficient permissions to be able to add content
2. Refresh the page on the browser you are using to refresh the content
3. Check the 'Edit' page settings and make sure that 'Require Content Approval' is not enabled
4. Delete and re-add the web part from the existing page
5. Create a new page and add the web part and relevant content to the new page
