Why are certain files in my OneDrive grayed out and unable to be opened?

  1. Check your internet connection to make sure it is stable.
  2. Check to see if you have the latest version of the program associated with the file.
  3. Check the file’s storage location (for example, it may need to be in the OneDrive folder).
  4. Check for permission settings on the file. Are you the owner of the file and given permission to view, edit, or comment on it?
  5. Check to see if the source of the file has a copy of the file if you are unable to open it.
