Why am I unable to access my bank’s website on a public Wi-Fi network?

< 1 min read

There are a few measures we recommend taking to make sure you are accessing your bank’s website securely over a public Wi-Fi network:

  1. Turn off Sharing: This should be the first step for anyone using a public Wi-Fi network. Turning off sharing will prevent your devices from appearing to be visible or available on the network.

  2. Use a Virtual Private Network (VPN): VPNs offer a secure, private connection for your devices and safely encrypts all data that is exchanged.

  3. Avoid logging-in to sensitive sites: If you absolutely need to access sensitive sites, such as your bank’s website, try to do so over a secure, trusted connection.

  4. Use multi-factor authentication: When logging-in to your bank’s website, ensure two-factor authentication is enabled as an additional layer of protection.
