In order to transfer the primary RID master role in Active Directory, you should check the following:

1. Ensure the transfer target domain controller is available over the network.


2. Make sure Active Directory Domain Services is running.


3. Verify the source domain controller is a global catalog server.


4. Ensure the source and target domain controllers have current system volumes.


5. Verify the target domain controller has adequate free disk space on the system volume.
