Before moving an Active Directory object to a different OU, the following should be done:

1. Ensure that the user has the correct permissions to move the object.
2. Stop any services that are using the object.
3. Ensure that no replication operations are in progress.
4. Check any schema requirements that may be needed for the move.
5. Ensure that the move is in keeping with organizational requirements.
