Why am I not able to add an external contact to a Teams meeting?

  1. Confirm access to the external email address.

  2. Ensure that the invitee is part of the same tenant used by the meeting organizer.

  3. Confirm that the Teams meeting organizer has permissions to add external contacts.

  4. Ensure that the meeting organizer is not blocked from making changes to members of the meeting.

  5. If applicable, confirm that the Teams adminstrator has granted the outbound access necessary for the meeting.
