Why am I not able to access my mapped network drives with my Active Directory account?

< 1 min read

  1. Verify the connection
Check the status of your connection in File Explorer by looking at the top or bottom of the window. Make sure that it shows that you are connected and signed in.
  2. Check the IP address
Make sure the local IP addresses are correct. It might be necessary to restart your router for the change to take place.
  3. Redo the mapping
If the mapping is not enabled or does not appear after the post-back, then redo the mapping.
  4. Provide credentials
Provide the credentials for the network drive when prompted. If the username and password are not correct, then it will not be able to connect.
  5. Check the group policy
Check the active directory group policy if it is set for the user. Make sure that the user is added to the group with the correct access rights to the network drive.
