What should I do if my computer has been infected with malware?

1. Scan your device with up-to-date Antivirus software to detect Malware. Once Malware is detected, the software should inform you what it has found and the steps to take to remove it.
2. Backup your system (including personal files and applications). Should malicious software cause damage to your system, you can then restore your system.
3. Change passwords, especially the ones for online banking and email accounts.
4. Update your software such as your operating system and OS software.
5. Restrict access to your connection, meaning turn off file sharing and printer sharing.
