What should I do if I receive a suspicious call from someone claiming to be from a financial institution or government agency?

< 1 min read

1. Do not give out any personal information, such as account numbers, Social Security numbers, etc.
2. Contact your financial institution or government agency directly by finding their contact information on official websites or documentation.
3. Report the incident to the Federal Trade Commission, your local police department, your state Attorney General’s office, or the Better Business Bureau.
4. Be weary of unsolicited offers and never give out money or buy any products when not requested.
5. Stop all communication with the caller, hang up, and do not call back.
