What is the difference between cybersecurity and information security?

< 1 min read

The terms Cybersecurity and information security are often used interchangably, because they both revolve around protecting sensitive data. However, information security focuses on protecting data from unauthorized access, while cybersecurity focuses more on protection from cyber threats and other threats that exist online.

When it comes to protecting data, here are a few things to consider:

  1. Password management: Use a unique and strong password for every account you sign up for, and change them regularly.
  2. Data encryption: Encrypt sensitive data to keep it away from potential unauthorized access
  3. Authentication protocols: Use two-factor authentication or biometrics to make sure only authorized personnel can access your data.
  4. Monitor access to your data: Regularly monitor access to your data; review user access and logins to ensure the can't be compromised.
  5. Data backups: Regularly back up your data in case you fall victim of a security breach.
