What are the risks of using unsecured public USB charging stations?

  1. Connecting to an unknown or unsecured network can expose your devices to malicious intrusions.
  2. Use of public charging stations can also expose your devices to fraudulent activity such as data theft or viruses.
  3. Unsecured public USB stations can also be subject to physical tampering.

What list of things would you suggest I do?

  1. Avoid connecting to unknown or unsecured networks.
  2. Only use public charging stations that are password protected or otherwise secured.
  3. Be mindful of physical tampering or suspicious activity at public charging stations.
  4. Bring your own USB charger and cord when possible.
