Below are instructions for using the SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions in Excel.

1. Select the cells for which you wish to calculate a subtotal.
2. Open the Formula tab and select the Subtotal drop-down.
3. On this menu, select the column to be subtotaled, as well as what type of calculation you wish to perform.
4. The subtotals will be automatically displayed.
5. To calculate an aggregate function, select the appropriate function from the Function Library.
6. Enter the range for which you wish to use the aggregate function.
7. The results will be automatically calculated and displayed.
