How do I use the DATE or TIME function in Excel?

1. To use the DATE or TIME function in Excel, first select the cell where you would like the data to show and type the =DATE or =TIME in the formula bar.
2. Then click on the cell you want to be the starting point of the data.
3. Click OK and the date or time will be shown in the selected cell.
4. To format the output (e.g. date or time format), select the cell containing the data, right-click, and select Format Cells.
5. At the Format Cells menu, select the desired date or time format. Then click OK and the data will be formatted accordingly.
