How do I troubleshoot issues with email server blacklisted?

< 1 min read

  1. Check your email server’s reputation with online blacklists such as rbl.efnet.org and bl.spamcop.net. Review the applicable logs and identify the type of email that is getting marked as spam.

  2. Try to identify the common source of the emails. Check whether the emails are coming from a single IP address, domain name, or email address.

  3. Check to see if your email server is configured securely, and the authentication methods set up correctly.

  4. Investigate inbound emails to see if there are any invalid email headers, suspicious content, or suspicious usage patterns.

  5. Check to see if the emails address made it to the intended recipient without being flagged as spam.

  6. If you suspect your emails were flagged as spam by mistake, submit a removal request to the blacklist provider.
