How do I troubleshoot a modem that is not showing any lights?

If your modem’s lights are not responding, here are some steps to try and troubleshoot:

  1. Check the power cable:

    Make sure the power cable is tightly connected and securely plugged into your modem and a working power outlet.

  2. Check the backup battery:

    If the modem has a backup battery installed, it should be firmly connected. If the modem is unplugged, the battery should still remain connected.

  3. Reset the modem:

    Unplug the power cable from the modem and leave it unplugged for at least 10 seconds. Plug the power cable back into the modem. This should reset the modem and the lights may turn on.

  4. Replace the modem:

    If none of the above steps work, the modem may need to be replaced, especially if there is physical damage.
