To recover a password-protected section in OneNote, follow the steps below:

1. Launch OneNote and open the protected section.
2. Click on the File tab.
3. Select Info from the left sidebar.
4. In the Protect group, click the Password button.
5. Input the old password to verify it.
6. Create and confirm the new password.
7. Click OK and the password will be changed.
