To reattach a laptop key:
- Turn off laptop
Turn off the laptop before detaching any keys. - Unplug laptop
Unplug any cables connected to the laptop before proceeding with repairs. - Remove keycap
Using a tool such as tweezers, gently pry the keycap from the keyboard. - Disconnect hinge clip
Remove the metal hinge clip that is attached to the base of the keycap. - Reattach hinge clip
Place the hinge clip back into the keyboard and connect it to the laptop's keyboard circuit board. - Secure the keycap
Place the keycap back onto the laptop keyboard and press down firmly until it snaps back into place. - Test the key
Once the keycap is back on the laptop keyboard, test the key to make sure it works properly.
