How do I grant access to a specific document in SharePoint?

To grant access to a specific document in SharePoint:

  1. Open the document
  2. Select Share from the document menu
  3. Under Who has access select Change
  4. Change the document sharing setting:
    1. Select Specific People
    2. Type in the person's name or email address
    3. Select the appropriate permission from the Access type drop-down menu
    4. Click Share
  5. Click Done
