How do I fix IPv4 connectivity issues?

  1. Restart your modem and router – This is the first step to take when you are not able to connect to the Internet. Turn your modem and router off for at least 1 minute, then turn them back on and wait a few minutes for your devices to establish a connection.
  2. Check the physical connections – Physically check that the cables connecting your modem, router, and computer/device are plugged in securely.
  3. Check Adapter Settings – Make sure that the network adapter is enabled and configured correctly. This can be done by checking the Network Connections settings on your device.
  4. Verify your IP address and DNS Server address is correct – You can do this by running the ‘ipconfig’ command in Command Prompt.
  5. Flush Your DNS Cache – Flushing your DNS cache will delete any stored data from your computer’s DNS cache, which could be causing the issue. Running the command ipconfig/flushdns will flush your DNS cache.
  6. Check your Firewall or Antivirus settings – Your Firewall or Antivirus settings could be causing the issue. Check that the network connection is allowed through the Firewall or Antivirus software.
