How do I fix IPv4 connectivity issues?
- Restart your modem and router – This is the first step to take when you are not able to connect to the Internet. Turn your modem and router off for at least 1 minute, then turn them back on and wait a few minutes for your devices to establish a connection.
- Check the physical connections – Physically check that the cables connecting your modem, router, and computer/device are plugged in securely.
- Check Adapter Settings – Make sure that the network adapter is enabled and configured correctly. This can be done by checking the Network Connections settings on your device.
- Verify your IP address and DNS Server address is correct – You can do this by running the ‘ipconfig’ command in Command Prompt.
- Flush Your DNS Cache – Flushing your DNS cache will delete any stored data from your computer’s DNS cache, which could be causing the issue. Running the command ipconfig/flushdns will flush your DNS cache.
- Check your Firewall or Antivirus settings – Your Firewall or Antivirus settings could be causing the issue. Check that the network connection is allowed through the Firewall or Antivirus software.
