- Clean any dust or dirt from the fans, vents, and heat sink.
- Check the temperature in BIOS/UEFI settings to see if it is already set to overheat protection.
- Close unnecessary tabs and applications.
- Make sure programs and windows are up-to-date.
- Attempt to add additional fans, if applicable.
- Use a laptop cooling pad.
- Reduce the laptop’s performance setting.
- Allow airflow around the laptop, by placing it on a flat, non-carpeted surface.
