- Check the Internet connection
Make sure that the router is hooked up to the internet and the indicator lights marked Active, Status, or similar are on. - Check the lights
See if the lights marked Ready or Receive, Send, or Transmit are lit. - Check the cables
Make sure each insulation-coated cable is firmly connected to both the router and the device you are connecting to (like your computer). - Restore the router to factory settings
If you can’t find a connection, try pressing the 'Reset' or 'Restore Factory Settings' button–usually located on the back of the router. - Check the device's settings
Make sure the device you're trying to connect to is in its default setting, and is able to detect the WiFi.
