- Check the current settings. Review the existing maximum number of users who can access the shared drive at once. The actual settings will determine the next step.
- Analyze shared drive usage. Understand what resources are currently being used, how those same resources are used, and the resources stored in the shared drive.
- Compare usage with existing resources. Confirm if the current level of usage does or does not meet the maximum number of users supported by the shared drive.
- Update settings. If the existing resources support the desired maximum number of users, then adjust the settings accordingly. Otherwise, evaluate and discuss the proper resources required.
- Address any additional requirements or changes. If there are changes or adjustments required to workflow and/or processes, address those to ensure efficient use of the resources.
- Test and validate the settings. Once the changes have been made, test and validate the settings to ensure the expected users can access the shared drive.
