To add animation to a SmartArt graphic in PowerPoint, follow these steps:

1. Select the SmartArt graphic you want to animate
2. Go to the Animations tab on your ribbon
3. Choose an animation style and select Play from the menu
   or select Timing to set the animation order
4. Optionally, you can also set the animation to start on click or with the previous animation
5. Customize the animation effects to match your presentation
