How can I use the INDIRECT or GETPIVOTDATA functions in Excel?

To use the INDIRECT or GETPIVOTDATA functions in Excel:


  1. Create a defined cell name by selecting the cell you want to give the name to and typing the desired name into the Name box next to the Formula bar.

  2. In the formula, enter either the INDIRECT or GETPIVOTDATA functions.

  3. Select the cell that contains the named range.

  4. Copy and paste the formula to any other cells, rows, and columns.

  5. Use the Ctrl+Shift+Enter combination to enter the array formula
