Before attempting to fix the key, first power off the laptop and unplug any attached power sources.
- Disconnect any USB, headphone, or network cables connected to the laptop.
- Turn over your laptop, and locate the key that is stuck or broken.
- Carefully clean the area around the stuck or broken key.
- Using tweezers or a flat headed screwdriver, carefully pry up the key and its spring.
- Using a cotton swab lightly dab isopropyl alcohol around the sticky key.
- Wait a few seconds for the alcohol to evaporate and then reattach the key and spring to the laptop.
