Why is my Smart TV not connecting to my cable or satellite provider?
- Check your Internet connection settings. Ensure that your Wi-Fi is correctly connected and your Smart TV has the correct network settings.
- Check if your Smart TV is compatible with the type of cable or satellite provider being used. (Note: If purchasing a Smart TV, make sure to confirm the available connectivity options prior to purchase.)
- If your Smart TV has an optical audio output, connect a digital optical audio cable from that port to an optical input on your soundbar, home theater receiver, or TV.
- Make sure the cables connecting your Smart TV to the cable or satellite provider are firmly inserted in the right ports. You may want to unplug and replug the cables to make sure it's connected and then reboot your TV.
- Check the HDMI ports of both the TV and external connecting device to see if any of the pins have been bent or damaged.
- If using an HDMI cable, make sure your Smart TV is using the correct version. A version 1.4 cable is required for 1080p, while a version 2.0 cable is needed for 4K HDR.
