- Check the power cable is connected to the printer and a power source
- Ensure the USB or network cable is connected from your laptop to the printer
- Check the printer is powered on and the green indicator light is visible
- Restart the printer and laptop and try again
- Check the Printer Software driver on the laptop is installed and up to date
- Remove and reinstall the driver software for the printer on the laptop
- Change the Printer Port setting to 'USB' or 'Network'
